Blueberry Island Lodge, Alaska
We now offer personally hosted trips to Blueberry Island Lodge on the Kvichak River in Southwestern Alaska.
The Kvichak has the world's largest native Trout. These are not Steelhead and they grow up in Lake Illiamna feeding on Sockeye smolt, flesh and eggs. Thirty inch fish are not uncommon, and many larger ones were taken last year. This is a "blue collar" trip to a small privately owned lodge on an island in the middle of the river about two miles downstream from the Illiamna outlet.
You will be guided by the owner, George Riddle, Taylor Edrington, who owns SoCO Guides and has several years of experience on this river out of other lodges and another experienced member of Taylor's crew.
This trip is limited to 6 people and we have two dates available in 2010. The trip includes all lodging, food, and guide service using boats as well as walk/wade. The trip does not include airfare to Anchorage and airfare from Anchorage to Iguigig Airport where we take over. Taylor will make the charter arrangements to Igiugig for you however, because he can negotiate better prices than you can on your own, and everyone can travel together. These are going to be fun, family style trips that we guarantee you will enjoy.
For more information and photos, visit the Blueberry Island Lodge.

Rainbow Point Lodge, Alaska
In addition to Blueberry, we are also offering trips to Rainbow Point Lodge on the Copper River on the other side of Lake Illiamna.

We think this is the best small lodge in Alaska with service that is literally unmatched because of its owners and its size.
