If you like to take explosive wild fish on a dry fly then the Arkansas River is the place to be. Nymphing is nearly always good on the Arkansas, but these Browns like to look up to a variety of adults from Mayflies and Caddis to Hopper and Stoneflies. The classic hopper/dropper rig is the primary choice of Arkansas anglers. It is easy to learn and allows you to double dip hatches and stages of insect lifecycles. These patterns should be in your box when taking a trip to the Arkansas.
