General Conditions:

South Platte River FishingMornings are still fairly cold, expect single digits and ice in the lower four bends. Small numbers of prespawn fish have made their way all the way to the gauging station. Expect small pods of fish scattered throughout the lower stretch, and look for numbers to increase as the week runs out. There are already a few redds (spawning beds), and fish working them, so please be very cautious! Leave an egg pattern on now until the end of the month, changing droppers. Smaller attractor nymphs; i.e...Red Copper Johns/ Miracle Nymphs/ Gold Ice/ Skinny Minis have been producing fish. Look for fishing to only get better, and move into that excellent prespawn period.....
