Dream Stream (Charlie Meyers SWA)

General Overview

Flows have been stable in the 90cfs range for nearly 3 weeks now, and fishing has been fair. Its still relatively cool in South Park, and we've seen substantial snow in the last several weeks. While the snow doesn't hang around long...the air temps haven't been quite consistent enough to get bugs going like they typically should be at this point. Also, we'd prefer a bit more water...however the goal is to fill Spinney...so it may be a bit until DWB adds some water.

Stream Conditions

Flowrate above Elevenmile Reservoir: 88.7 cfs

Clarity: Clear

Clarity is strong and flows are currently in the below average window

Suggested Methods

We're seeing some BWO activity now, with a continuation of heavy midge activity. You will be best suited to run a variety of attractor nymphs along with BWO nymphs or Midge Larva early and midge pupa or BWO emergers later on if you witness fish in the film or mid-water-column. At times you'll find fish posted up feeding on adult Midges and small BWOs.

Spinney Mountain Ranch (Above Spinney Reservoir)

General Overview

This section has been variable, however our guides have found some nice fish since the park opened from the gauging station downstream. Upstream of the gauging station its been a relatively slow go with little bug activity.

Clarity: Stained to Clear (Variable based on melt)

Flows have increased on this section. Things have not really changed in the canyon bug wise, as things have still been relatively cool. There are a few BWOs and Midges are king, but we're waiting to see some Spring Caddis.

Clarity: Clear

Flows are at average in the canyon, clarity is perfect.
