Non-Weighted Nymphs/ Emergers

“After spending my time guiding in Montana and central Wyoming, I set out to tie a versatile midge pattern by blending a few of my favorite patters.

I quickly came to realize that though I was aiming for a midge pattern, it fished better as a BWO.

This jig head (with gold bead) variation of the San Juan Worm imitates an aquatic worm, an important food source for trout. Overall, it's a good attractor pattern that trout really seem to like, with the added benefit of the jig hook.

Developed by famous angler/author, Gary LaFontaine, the Sparkle Pupa is designed to imitate the shiny, translucent appearance of a caddis pupa emerging to the surface. This pattern also features a bead head for added weight and sparkle.

The Bat Wing is one of our “go to” emerger patterns during the BWO and PMD hatches. Wonderful pattern in the film as a dry emerger.

Another versitle pattern from John Barr. Fish it alone on the swing or behind and adult caddis in the film. You can even run it on a double nymph rig.

John Barrs original “Barr’s Emerger” is one of the best BWO nymph/emergers ever designed. It’s simplicity, as in all of John’s patterns, makes it work. A must have folks.

The original Ju Ju Baetis without a bead head. This pattern comes in different colors for matching different mayfly hatches other than Baetis.

Another of Charlie Craven’s must have patterns. Fish this emerger deep or right behind a dry fly on fluorocarbon tippet.
